A guaranteed 1% is collected from the sales of all IGA private label products throughout the year and 1c from certain advertised and marked "Community Chest" in the weekly catalogues.
The more IGA branded products purchased from your IGA store the more the Commmunity Chest grows.
At the end of the year accrued funds are totalled and a cheque is made out to our chosen beneficaries.

"This is really a very simple program" said a spokesperson for IGA. " The customer can purchase their fuel anywhere they like at the best price available, they simply come into our store, spend $30 and we'll give the customer 4 cents per litre back on the purchase."
The promotion allows IGA shoppers to choose where, when and at what price per litre they buy their fuel, then be reimbursed their 4c a litre while shopping IGA. No longer will a consumer have to travel, in some cases great distance, to receive a discount on their fuel purchase. Customers will now have the freedom of choice to buy their fuel at any fuel site.
